FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Who is sanctioning this event?
Central Carolina Region (CCR) SCCA is the local body that will be responsible
for the event. The national SCCA has completed a safety inspection of the site
and we are currently waiting on an official sanction number for the event from
them.
What is the entry cost for the event?
Currently we have decided upon $180 to cover the cost of the event and $10 of
that will go toward the workers fund for that weekend.
When will registration start?
As soon as we have the sanction number for the event and we can get the
electronic registration set up through MyAutoEvents.

What are the license equirements to run this event?
Since this is a class 4 time trial event, you will need a full time trial
licence through the SCCA which also requires that you are a member of the SCCA
(Membership Fee - $70). This TT license is controlled under the club racing
heading. To get this license, you will need to have participated in 3 events
(drivers schools, track events, etc.) AND be signed off by a safety steward of
the SCCA. The CCR will be having a TT at Carolina Motorsports Park in April and
you can get signed off at that event if you have had completed previous track
events. There will be a safety steward at this event. You can then fill out the
License application and pay $35 for the license. For those of you that have NASA
licences, you can attend the CMP event and get signed off in that weekend. If
you have a good history with NASA, you should try to contact your regional SCCA
safety steward and see if you can qualify for the license and then can get
signed off. The SE Div regional safety steward is Steve Tompkins. Contact @
tompkins@voy.net
What are the needed driver's skills for this hillclimb?
This event is not for novices. Only a full Class 4 SCCA TT license is allowed
and that excludes all novice license and NASA licences. An hillclimb event like
this one actually carries more risk than a track event and more care should be
taken when navigating a course like this one. This is due to the course winding
its way through trees and sheer drops on a two lane road. There are a series of
30+ turns, 1.6 miles long and almost 900 feet of verticle climb! This event is
not for the faint at heart. If you can get signed off to get a full TT license
from the SCCA, you will be prepared to run this course.

What classes are going to be allowed to run this event?
Currently we are under the impression that all classes under the TT rules will
be allowed to run this event. There are safety preparations that will be
completed so that there will be no restrictions to the allowed classes.
What is the required safety equipment for driver and car?
Based on the class that your car falls under, you will need to follow the Club
Racing safety guidelines. That will mean that the more prepared your car is, the
more safety gear you will be required have. The minimum requirements (again,
unless your car is classes higher risk) is that you have a roll bar that follows
the guidlines of the TT rules, a 5 point harness properly attached, a fire
extinguisher that is in reach of the driver, full drivers suit (both 1 and 2
piece are allowed but may require nomex underwear), a SA2000 rated helmet,
balaclava (if you have facial hair), gloves, and flame resistant shoes. Please
refer to the GCR (General Competition Rules) for more information --->

Annual tech inspections will be going on at the CMP event in
April for those of you that need to get inspected and especially for those with
new cars.
